Leading International Company is looking for Corporate & Government Affairs Director
Responsibilities:
· Develop a strategic plan that identifies government affairs goals, obstacles to achievement of those goals, tactics to overcome the obstacles and resources needed to implement an overall government affairs plan;
· Serve as a member of the Board of Management by participating in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating models and operational execution. Oversees the Corporate & Government Affairs team within the company and mentors and develops it by managing work allocations, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
· Serve as the primary action officer for government affairs activities in Russia;
· Develop and manage internal staff in areas of government , media, industry and community affairs;
· Manage consultants and external resources in an efficient manner;
· Develop national network of contacts that can support Company as needed with issues on regional and local levels;
· Obtain and communicate to management timely information about important government legislative and regulatory initiatives;
· Advise management on public policy issues and counsel management on business issues with public-policy implications;
· Manage media relations and corporate citizenship/ community outreach staff and programs to ensure that activities of staff and programs and integrated to serve the company’s business and public policy goals.
Qualifications:
· College Degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree preferred
· At least 8-12 years professional experience;
· At least 3-5 years experience in public - policy management or law, either in government, a non-governmental organization or private company;
· Corporate experience at MNC or a respected Russian company, preferably in management role;
· Fluency in spoken and written English language;
· Familiarity and practical experience with Russian regulatory framework, agencies and processes;
· Experience of familiarity with government and an understanding of jurisdictional issues and limitations;
· At Company’s option, successful completion of initial training and orientations at the Legal Division in corporate headquarters (minimum 2 weeks) and possible annual follow-up orientation (1-2 weeks per year).
